Parish & School Consultation Session Materials (Internal Only)

In August, the synod steering committee held diocesan consultation sessions with key internal groups – retired priests, deacons and their wives, chancery staff, and, as you know from last week, our principals and vice-principals. Each session was marked by high levels of engagement and enthusiasm. The future-looking ideas and recommendations we have received from all sessions have been thoughtful and inspiring. We are now ready to move on to the parish and school consultation sessions to garner additional, action-oriented recommendations for the diocesan mission, structure, parish life, and financial sustainability using the pillars of One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic.

The Synod Steering Committee has been working to develop a process for the Diocesan Synod to meet Bishop’s vision for broad and diverse consultations. To meet that goal, each parish and school is asked to schedule and host one synod consultation session with your community leaders before Saturday, October 8, 2022. If your session will be held after October 8, 2002, please email communications@dsj.org to support the planning and compiling process.
