Council of Religious
The Council of Religious of the diocese of San Jose consists of men and women religious from different congregations, ethnicities, and ministerial backgrounds. The members of the council all live and minister in the Diocese of San Jose in different capacities.
The Council of Religious acts as an advisory body to the Delegate of Religious and is also a consultative body to the Bishop in matters pertaining the role of religious women and men in the mission of the Diocese.
The council assists in the planning of activities for members of religious institutes as well as to matters related to the retirement fund for religious. They also help organize the yearly Open House of all religious with the Bishop as the Jubilee Celebration for Religious. The council meets periodically, and membership is by appointment.
