Sowing Seeds of Faith

The Campaign for Spiritual Renewal

In direct support of our Diocesan Pastoral Plan, Renewed in Christ, Together in Mission, this campaign is strengthening our parishes, schools, ministries, and future generations of Catholics in Santa Clara County. Together, we are planting seeds that will bear fruit for years to come.

Seeds Are Taking Root

As of March 9, 2026

$30,592,214

raised toward our $62 million goal

  • Goal: $62,000,000 49% 49%

Thanks be to God — and to the extraordinary generosity of the faithful across our diocese. In just six months, the people of the Diocese of San José have answered the call with open hearts and willing hands, bringing us more than a third of the way toward our campaign goal. The harvest has only just begun.

First Fruits of Renewal

Four pilot parishes — St. Elizabeth, St. Clare, St. John Vianney, and St. Lucy — led the way in our campaign’s opening chapter. Their response has been nothing short of inspiring. This campaign has always been about more than financial goals. It is a call to renewal in every dimension of Christian stewardship: Time, Talent, and Treasure.

The Opportunity of FreeWill

Shockingly, about 70% of the people sitting in our pews each weekend don’t have a legally-valid will.

Yet as disciples, we are called to care for the gifts God has entrusted to us—our families, our blessings, and the legacy of faith we leave behind. Creating a will is one of the most loving and responsible ways to do that. It protects those we love, brings peace of mind, and allows us to express our values in a lasting way.

To support parishioners in this important act of stewardship, the Diocese is offering FreeWill, a simple and secure online tool that allows parishioners to create a legal will at no cost to them. It empowers them to care for their family, reflect on God’s blessings, and—only if they feel called—consider a legacy gift that strengthens the Church for future generations.

FreeWill is about faith, clarity, and love—ensuring that our final wishes reflect the life we lived and the values we cherished.

Please make sure your visits include a discussion of this important no-cost opportunity.

The Next Chapter of Our Journey

The success of our pilot parishes has set a powerful example for the entire diocese. Now, two additional waves of parishes are preparing to carry the mission forward — each one invited to embrace the same spirit of renewal in time, talent, and treasure.

Wave I:

$23.9M goal
Now underway through June 2026

Wave II:

$19.6M goal
Launching later in 2026

Be Part of the Renewal

Every gift — of prayer, of service, of treasure — strengthens the Body of Christ in Santa Clara County. How will you sow your seeds of faith?

Strategic Priorities & Key Investments

Sowing Seeds of the Future ($5,250,000)

To understand and engage young people and to cultivate young leaders for our Church and world.

This investment will establish regional hubs for young adults, leadership development programs, service-learning opportunities, and mentorship networks at the parish level, targeting youth and young adults.

Outreach

Sowing Seeds of Mercy ($7,000,000)

To be Christ to everyone we meet.

Campaign funds will expand outreach to the disengaged, grow mental health ministries, provide Catholic Social Teaching workshops, and strengthen ministries serving the unhoused and those on the margins of society.

Family Ministry

Sowing Seeds of Love ($3,500,000)

To make Christ the center of family life.

Formation

Sowing Seeds of Wisdom ($15,750,000)

To invigorate the formation of Missionary Disciples.

Sow of Seeds Prayer - English

Sowing Seeds of Faith in this Year of Hope

Heavenly Father,
Source of all life and giver of every good gift,
In this Year of Hope, we come before You
With grateful hearts and trusting spirits.

You have called us to sow seeds of faith,
To renew our hearts, our parishes, schools, and our Diocese
Through a bold vision rooted in Your love.
As we unite in this Capital Campaign,
Grant us the grace to respond with generosity and joy.

Strengthen our commitment to the mission of the Church,
That we may grow as faithful disciples,
Active in the life of our parishes,
And courageous in sharing the Gospel with others.

Bless our efforts to support our Diocesan Pastoral Plan,
So that Renewed in Christ, Together in Mission,
Every ministry may thrive,
And every soul may give glory to God.

May the seeds we plant today bear fruit for generations to come.
Through the intercession of Saint Joseph, Saint Clare,
And Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe,
May we be guided always in faith, hope, and love.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen

Sembrando Semillas de Fe

Padre Celestial,
A renovar nuestros corazones,

Sowing Seeds of Faith in this Year of Hope

Và can đảm chia sẻ ánh sáng Tin Mừng đi muôn nơi.
Amen.
