Blessing of the Animals
Fr. Chris Bransfield pastor at St. Justin Parish and St. Justin School celebrated the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
It’s always an exciting morning as dozens of dogs, cats, lizards, snakes, goldfish and hamsters were gathered in the school’s corral area for blessing.
Fr. Steve Kim from St. Lucy’s Parish celebrated the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi with the St. Lucy School students and blessed their pets and animals.

St. Mary Church in Gilroy pastor Fr. Robert Brocato, blessed all of St. Mary School students’ furry, feathered and scaly friends on October 2
during the Blessing of the Animals in celebration of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals.
Catholic Academy of Sunnyvale School Blessing of the Animals was held at their school yard by Fr. Michael Carson.

St. Mary’s School of Los Gatos 8th Graders led the school in the “Celebration of Creation” mass on Friday, October 3rd. In honor of the Feast of St. Francis, they included a “Thanksgiving for Animals” reflection and distributed blessing cards to all the students. Students were then asked to gather their families and pray this blessing over their pets at home on October 4th.

Fr. Ritche Bueza pastor of St. John the Baptist celebrated the blessing of animals in honor of the patron saint of animals, St. Francis of Assisi. Families, students & staff brought live and stuffed animals to be blessed by Fr. Ritche during morning assembly. Each year, our students enjoy the opportunity to be able to bring their pets to school on this special day. Students were amazed to see, up close and personal a 20 year old snake named “Spot” and a 1 year old turtle named “Ninja”
