Proclamation & Practice Speaker Series – Healing versus Curing in the Anointing of the Sick.
Anointing of the Sick is a misunderstood sacrament, as many Catholics expect miraculous cures or reserve it for their deathbeds. Fr. Bruce Morrill (Vanderbilt) will address misconceptions, explore Christ’s role as healer, and, by distinguishing between healing and curing, explain how Anointing of the Sick brings meaning, strength, and comfort in illness and old age. There will be two Zoom offerings of the talk: 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Spanish interpretation provided at 4:30.
