The Layette Program serves new and needy mothers by providing them with a fitting wardrobe for their newborn child.

The Layette Program operates throughout the year with the help of volunteers by creating baskets for newborns. The basket donations include baby clothing and other items for newborns from zero to 6 months.
Donations of clothes or cash are welcomed at any time of the year. Checks should be payable to “Diocese of San Jose Layette Fund” and sent to: Diocese of San Jose, Department for Evangelization, 1150 N. First Street, Suite 100, San Jose, CA 95112
Every first Sunday of December there is an Annual Layette Celebration with “High Tea” where volunteers bring together purchased and/or hand-crafted items into a huge exhibit ordinarily at a parish hall.
To obtain a Layette basket for a newborn in need you must request it from Public Health Nurses who work at hospitals around the Santa Clara County. “The Public Health Nurses disburse the Layettes to the women they serve our communities.”
