Each week, music ministers have the great and awesome opportunity to enrich the prayer of the People of God by joining them in song, participating in musical dialogue, and adding to the beauty of the liturgy. As choir members, your voice is your most important instrument. For singers, your voice is the doorway to connect with God. And when we sing together, our voices give others the courage to let their own spirits sing to God our Savior.

Learn how to use your voice well and how to unite it with other voices so that you can be a better choir member for your church. In this workshop, Mary Linduska, a professional singer, choral conductor, and music educator, will help singers of all abilities improve and understand better three elements of good choral singing:

  1. breathing and phrasing, so that the words you sing communicate the full meaning of the texts
  2. pronunciation and clarity, so that you can communicate the meaning of the texts with conviction
  3. tone and depth, so that our many voices become one full voice in prayer and praise to God
