CRS Rice Bowl Grant Award Ceremony

On behalf of the Global Solidarity Team of the Diocese of San Jose, we would like to invite you to a special awards ceremony to honor the recipients of the 2015 CRS Rice Bowl Grants Program. Please extend this special invitation to your pastors, principals, faculty, staff, and entire parish and school communities.
CRS Rice Bowl is Catholic Relief Services’ Lenten faith-in-action program for families and faith communities. Through CRS Rice Bowl, we hear stories from our brothers and sisters in need worldwide, and devote our Lenten prayers, fasting and gifts to change the lives of the poor.
Seventy-five percent of the CRS Rice Bowl funds raised are used for international development and twenty-five percent are available to be distributed locally for hunger and poverty alleviation programs.This year we received $90,050 in grant applications and will be awarding $84,800 using the 25% of CRS Rice Bowl funds that we received during Lent in previous years.
We will be awarding CRS Rice Bowl Fund grants to forty applicants in our diocese to support their local outreach programs.
This is our fifth year of this program and we hope that it will continue to grow.
