Why get married in the Church?

Getting married in the Church means inviting God into your marriage and receiving the grace of the Sacrament to strengthen your love. It unites you fully with the Catholic community and makes your marriage a blessing for your family and the Church.

What is Convalidation?

Convalidation is the Catholic Church’s way of bringing couples (a man and a woman) who are married civilly into the Sacrament of Matrimony, allowing them to receive God’s grace in their marriage and celebrate their vows before the Church.

Take the Next Step

Register today! Provide some initial details to begin the process. Register before January 15, 2026 to allow time for preparation. All registered couples will receive guidance, and when they are ready, accompaniment in their marriage preparation and celebration, whether at the central event or in their local parish.

Why Be Part of This Day?

Receive God’s full blessing in your marriage. Celebrate your vows before family, community, and the Church. Enjoy a joyful reception and memories to last a lifetime.

Why Now?

Many Catholic couples are civilly married but have not yet celebrated their marriage in the Church, often because of life’s challenges, financial concerns, or simply not knowing where to begin. This is your opportunity to take that step now, without the pressure of planning a big wedding. The diocese will accompany you through a simple, beautiful preparation process that leads to the Sacrament of Matrimony, a grace that strengthens your love, your family, and your relationship with God.
