Advances in technology, waning public support, a broken fiscal model, commercialization of college athletics…. these are just some of the problems facing higher education. The US public measures the value of a college education–its ROI–in financial terms. Jesuit universities are not exempt from these challenges. Is the mission–to form leaders in a humanistic tradition with a strong ethical foundation–irrelevant and a potential burden? How should we face this moment?
