The Division of Youth Ministry in the Office for Parish Services serves the Diocese of San Jose by developing the leadership of youth ministry. We do this be advocating the need for parishes to respond to the needs of young people in their parish, 6th through 12th grade. We also help parishes develop sustainable structures that allow their youth ministry to thrive. A major component of what we do is to provide training and resources for youth ministry coordinators, pastors and clergy, and the many volunteer leaders that make a thriving and successful youth ministry possible. Our goal is also to provide the support a parish needs in the development of youth ministry.

“All my life, my grandfather had always encouraged me to nourish my faith and to stay involved within the Catholic Church. “Don’t be afraid to give all that you have, especially when you’re working for God!” he would always tell me.
Ministry began for me back in Torrance since I was 7 years old and I haven’t stop since then! The youth and young adult ministries have provided me with so many blessings, along with the blessings to work as a support staff for the Office of Liturgy and Youth & Young Adult Ministries. You can find me around the Diocese at Youth and Young Adult events, at the Newman Center at San Jose State or St. Catherine of Alexandria if I’m not in my office!”
