DIOCESAN PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS:

Heavenly Father,
Your divine Son taught us to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into His vineyard.
We earnestly beg You to bless our parish, our school, and our Diocese with many more priests, religious, and lay faithful who will know you intimately, love You fervently, and serve You joyfully through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
We pray that you continuously call our young people to a living encounter with your Son
in the Word and Eucharist, that they might be made worthy ministers of your Holy Catholic Church.
Strengthen them with the support of their parents, teachers, and friends on earth and all the angels and saints in heaven.
May the ever Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, intercede for us that we might listen to the Word and act on it.
We ask this in through Christ our Lord. Amen.
St. Joseph, Patron of our Diocese, pray for us!

REV. JAE BIN GABRIEL LEE

is the son of Won Hee Lee and Kyung Ryu Choi, and has one younger sister.

Born in South Korea, he immigrated to the United States in junior high school, and converted to the Catholic faith during high school. Deacon Gabriel attended Sierra High School in Santa Clara, San Jose City College, and St. Patrick’s Seminary. His home parish is Holy Korean Martyrs, and he served his Pastoral Year at Sacred Heart Parish in Saratoga.

Now 27 years old, Father Gabriel desires to become a priest “to be able to help people through Sacraments and serve the communities.”

Bishop McGrath has assigned him to begin his priestly ministry at St. Frances Cabrini Church in San Jose.

REV. KHOA DANG VU

is the son of Sim Van Vu and Linda Kim Dang, and is the eldest of five children. He is the nephew of Father Lieu Vu who was ordained for the Diocese in 1991. His parents emigrated from Vietnam through the sponsorship of Holy Family Parish in San Jose.

Father Khoa was born and raised San Jose. He attended Oak Grove High School in San Jose, UC Davis, and St. Patrick’s Seminary. His home parish is Our Lady of La Vang, and he served his Pastoral Year at St. Nicholas and St. Williams in Los Altos.

Now 28 years old, Father Khoa is grateful to his parents, grandparents, siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins, and the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement at Our Lady of La Vang for helping to shape his calling to the priesthood. “My hope and dream is just to be able to do the work of the Lord entrusted to me to the best of my ability. There is nothing more satisfying than working for the Lord in the vineyard. I hope to always do according to God’s will.”

Bishop McGrath has assigned him to begin his priestly ministry at St. Francis of Assisi Church in San Jose.
