Are You Called?

Vocations Home / Are You Called?

If you are who you are meant to be, you will set the world on fire.
—St. Catherine of Siena

ARE YOU CALLED?

The Lord calls in as many ways are there are people! Sometimes the call is very obvious, often it is curiously subtle. The call to the priesthood or consecrated life can take on many forms, such as:

  • Sudden interest in the priesthood or consecrated life
  • A desire to be closer to Christ
  • Through the Mass or Eucharistic Adoration
  • Thoughts of a vocation to the priesthood or consecrated life just keep cropping up
  • A new sense of wanting something more in life

How do you know that the priesthood or consecrated life is truly God’s will for you?  Discernment is prayerfully seeking God’s will in your life. It takes time, patience and a willing heart, humility and trust that God does indeed wants what is best for you.

Do not ask yourself, ” What do I want to do with my life?” This is the wrong question! Rather, you should be thinking and asking: “Jesus what do you want me to be?   How do you want me to love You?” And listen for the answer! Listen with your heart, not just your head.
