SUMMARY:Spiritual Care Volunteer Training
DESCRIPTION:If you have a heart for compassionate listening and the ability to give 2 hrs per week to patients in need of spiritual care while in the hospital\, Valley Medical Center could use your help. We are looking for mature men and women in good standing in their own faith tradition and able to provide support to people from a variety of backgrounds. Volunteers receive five free classes in empathic listening before beginning practice and are supervised by qualified experienced chaplains. The next training begins January 4 and ends on Feb 1 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the hospital. Please call 408.885.6996 to sign up.

DESCRIPTION:The staff and families of Santa Clara Valley Medical Center are observing Day of Remembrance for those who died in our hospital and in our own lives in the past year with an interfaith service from 11:30-12:30 and a luminaria service after dark. All units and departments are preparing wreaths and prayer vessels will be available for visitors and guests to add names to the prayer intentions.
