SUMMARY:Catholicism and the 'Moral Catastrophe' of Sexual Abuse
DESCRIPTION:Recent revelations of sexual abuse have rocked the Catholic Church in the United States. Top national commentator Jesuit Tom Reese will speak on the allegations of abuse against former Washington\, D.C.\, Cardinal Theodore McCarrick and the extensive report of the Pennsylvania Attorney General.\nRevelations of sexual abuse in the Catholic Church in the United States have gone back decades and have led both to outrage and reform. But the recent news of the McCarrick scandal and the degree of abuse and coverup in the Pennsylvania report have pointed to a problem that goes beyond past examinations and that calls out for much deeper reforms.\nJesuit Tom Reese is a columnist for the Religion News Service and a frequent commentator on Catholic matters on major television networks. He has written extensively on the sexual abuse crisis and will offer his reflections on the latest troubling news.\nThomas Reese
