DESCRIPTION:Mark your Calendars – Award Winning Author and Educator Francisco Jiménez is coming to Seton School!\nWednesday\, October 30th\, 6:00- 8:30PM \nProfessor Francisco Jiménez\, emigrated with his family from Tlaquepaque\, Mexico to California and as a child worked alongside his parents in the fields of California. With no English and a fear of being sent back to Mexico\, his books beautifully unfold his inspiring and thought-provoking journey. Although the stories in his book are set in the 1940s and 1950s\, many of the issues are still relevant today. \nFrancisco is currently a professor at Santa Clara University. His son Miguel Jiménez will interview him on stage in the school’s auditorium. The evening will begin at 6:00PM with a welcoming wine reception to include heavy hors d’oeuvres and an opportunity to take a student led tour of the school. DESCRIPTION:Father Gregory Boyle is the founder and Executive Director of Homeboy Industries\,   the largest gang intervention\, rehabilitation and re-entry program in the United States\, now it’s in 25th year. \nA native Angeleno\, Father Greg was ordained a Jesuit priest in 1984. He was transformed by his work in Bolivia\,   Mexico\, and Folsom Prison with those who “live at the margins.” His dedication to finding a place for all in our society brought him to the Boyle Heights community of East Los Angeles\, where he served as pastor of Dolores Mission Church\, then the poorest parish in the city\, from 1986 through 1992. It was there that Father Greg started what would become Homeboy Industries\, a nonprofit organization that employs and trains more than 300 former gang-members every year in seven social enterprises\, from Homeboy Silkscreen & Embroidery to Homeboy Bakery and Homegirl Café. \nNow located in Downtown Los Angeles\, Homeboy also provides a path to change and free\, critical services to the 12\,000 people who walk through the doors every year seeking a better life. DESCRIPTION:This session will be available in English and Spanish.\nCumpliendo con el Estatuto para la Protección de Niños y Jóvenes\,   la Diócesis de San Jose exige el entrenamiento en el Ambiente Seguro y la Conducta Sexual para cada miembro del personal diocesano: sacerdotes\,   diáconos\, agentes de pastoral\, maestros\, directores de escuelas\, empleados laicos\, y voluntarios. Este entrenamiento es una condición de empleo y debe ser completado por los empleados nuevos dentro de seis meses después de su alquiler. El entrenamiento es válido para tres años.
