SUMMARY:RISE! 2019 Teen Chastity Conference
DESCRIPTION:Pope Paul VI’s quote: “Modern man listens more willingly to witnesses than to teachers\, and if he does listen to teachers\, it is because they are witnesses.” If this is true\, then RISE! Conferences are an effective way of achieving just that. RISE! Conferences bring in speakers that are true witnesses and who can engage audiences at all levels (Adults\, Young Adults\, and Teens). Being a witness is one thing\, but the speakers that RISE! has invited are witnesses that know how to share their story in order to teach. \nPerhaps one of the main reasons that young boys and girls cannot comprehend the true meaning of love and respect is probably because their friends and the Internet have become the source of truth. Through these exposures\, they gain false understandings of their own human sexuality and seek relationships that they hope will fulfill what they claim to be true. These same young boys and girls will one day become fathers and mothers\, and both will lack the knowledge in fostering the true meaning of love to their own children\, and the cycle continues. \nIn order for young boys to have an honest understanding of their own sexuality and girls to have a sense of pure love\, they must first understand the purpose of their creation which will lead into understanding their own human sexuality\, which then will bring light to the meaning of love\, authentic friendships and chastity. It is with this goal in mind\, that RISE! Conferences sponsored by Our Lady of Peace has each year selected speakers that cover such topics. This year at RISE!2019 Teen attendees will have the opportunity to hear some excellent keynote chastity talks by Brian Butler from Dumb Ox Ministries as well as the opportunity to choose from some Breakout workshops. \nI would like to end with a quote from another beloved Saint\, St. John Paul II: “Only the chaste man and the chaste woman are capable of real love”. I invite all Teens to attend RISE!2019“Be not afraid!” (St. John Paul II) \nDownload Flyer

SUMMARY:Our Lady's Way: The Story of Our Lady of Peace Church & Shrine
DESCRIPTION:In the late 1960s\, Our Lady of Peace Church had few parishioners\, tremendous debt\, and was slated to close. But…this scrawny parish had something else: a priest with a dream. \nOur Lady’s Way: The Story of Our Lady of Peace Church and Shrine\, tells the remarkable story of how a futureless church became a mecca of faith and conversion\, a Marian shrine\, and an oasis of peace amidst the chaos of a high-tech world. Told by the priests and parishioners themselves\, this parish’s history and personal testimonies will inspire and encourage your pursuit of heaven. \nToday\, Our Lady of Peace Church\, in the heart of Silicon Valley\, California\, is one of the busiest Catholic churches in the United States. What brought about this change? It started with a prayer. \nOur Lady’s Way is available in bookstores and online July 13. \nDownload Flyer-JPEG \nDownload Quarter Page Ad \nDownload Flyer-PDF

Most of the miracles’ churches became Eucharistic sanctuaries or shrines of the Eucharistic miracle\, approved by the Church. \nCan. 1230 By the term shrine is understood a church or other sacred place to which numerous members of the faithful make pilgrimage for a special reason of piety\, with the approval of the local ordinary.\nCan. 1231 For a shrine to be called a national shrine\, the conference of bishops must give its approval; for it to be called an international shrine\, the approval of the Holy See is required. \nEucharistic Miracles by Country\nThe exhibition’s miracles are from: Argentina\, Austria\, Belgium\, Caribbean Island of Martinique\, Colombia\, Croatia\, Egypt\, France\, Germany\, India\, Island of the Réunion (French Colony)\, Italy\, Netherlands\, Mexico\, Peru\, Poland\, Portugal\, Spain\, Switzerland and Venezuela. \nAdditional information about the exhibit can be found at: http://www.miracolieucaristici.org/en/Liste/list.html \nDownload 1/4 Page Flyer-JPEG\nDownload 1/4 Page Flyer-PDF\nDownload Flyer-PDF

SUMMARY:Trust in Providence: A Lenten Concert
DESCRIPTION:All are invited to attend an upcoming Lenten concert with internationally known harpist Anna Maria Mendieta & Argentine recording artist\, Tiano Vas. They will blend the best of their gifts to honor St. Padre Pio and the Blessed Virgin Mary by offering a variety of music\, ranging from sacred music to faith-filled pop rock\, with a sprinkle of what the duo does best–fiery Spanish/Latin music. \nThe concert will be held on Friday\, March 8\, 2019\, at 6:15pm at Our Lady of Peace Church & Shrine in Santa Clara\, in the Family Learning Center. A suggested donation of $10+ per person will be accepted at the door. Seating is first come\, first served. The concert is followed by a ‘meet and greet’ reception with the performers. \nThe Gift of Music to Our Faith\nTiano Vas’ latest album\, “Aumentame La Fe\,” covers almost a decade of experiences and challenges in his life. He believes his faith has helped him overcome those challenges. ”Without God\,” says Tiano\, “I would not have gone forward. Jesus Christ is the one who wins. . .”\nAnna Maria has touched the hearts of many Catholic and non-Catholic listeners around the world with her music\, including celebrities\, dignitaries\, and Pope Benedict XVI himself. She has received many awards for her innovative arrangements but\, because of her deep-seated faith in God and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary\, she remains humble and shows her appreciation to God by offering her talent to churches and non-profits to help spread faith and devotion.\n“. . .a charismatic player\, she ranged through her instrument: exquisite\, finger flicked dustings up and across the strings; or guitar-like strums\, crisp and percussive; or rich-blooded low notes or brilliant high ones.\,” said Richard Scheinink\, San Jose Mercury News. “. . .luminous. . .”\nAs a result of Anna Maria’s desire to partner with other like-minded performers like Tiano Vas for the Glory of God. This Lenten concert\, “Trust in Providence\,” is provided by Our Lady of Peace Church on Friday\, March 8\, 2019\, for the community at large for a suggested donation of $10 per person. Seating is limited and available first come\, first served. \nDownload TVC Ad \nDownload SF Ad \nDownload Flyer

SUMMARY:Relics of St. Pio Visit Our Lady of Peace Church
DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of the 50th commemoration anniversary of Saint Pio’s passing\, the relics of St. Pio will be touring around the United States\, with a stop at Our Lady of Peace Church for public veneration.\nThe 2018 tour follows last year’s sensational and headline-making tour that attracted an estimated 250\,000 faithful. In addition\, some of the most important secular media covered this event\, including FOX NEWS\, NBC\, The Wall Street Journal\, and The New York Times\, to mention just a few.\nVeneration officially opens in the church following the 8am Mass and will continue throughout the day between the regular schedule of Masses at 12pm and 5:15pm\, all the way until 7pm.\nThe day will conclude with a Mass at 7:30pm\, which will be celebrated by the pastor\, Rev. Brian Dinkel\, IVE\, in honor of Saint Pio. The Saint Pio Foundation will sell books and items related to Padre Pio in front of the church.\nThe relics on tour include: Saint Pio’s glove\, crusts from the wounds\, cotton-gauze with Saint Pio’s blood stains\, a lock of his hair\, his mantle\, and his handkerchief soaked with his sweat hours before he died.\nAll are invited to come venerate the relics and attend Holy Mass.\nThe Saint Pio Foundation\, which is sponsoring the tour on the occasion of the 50th commemoration anniversary of his passing\, will sell books and items related to Padre Pio in the entryway of the church.\nABOUT ST. PIO OF PIETRELCINA\nSt. Pio was born on May 25\, 1887 in Pietrelcina\, Italy\, and baptized Francesco Forgione. He first expressed his desire for priesthood at age 10. In order to pay for the preparatory education\, his father\, Grazio Forgione\, emigrated in the United States on 1899\, where he worked for several years.\nThe future saint entered the Capuchin order at age 15\, taking the name Pio. He was ordained a priest in 1910 at the age of 23. During his lifetime\, Padre Pio was known as a mystic with miraculous powers of healing and knowledge\, who bore the stigmata. Stigmata is the term the Catholic Church uses to speak about the wounds an individual receives that correspond to the crucifixion wounds of Jesus Christ. They can appear on the forehead\, hands\, wrists\, and feet.\nHis stigmata emerged during World War I\, after Pope Benedict XV asked Christians to pray for an end to the conflict. Padre Pio had a vision in which Christ pierced his side. A few weeks later\, on September 20\, 1918\, Jesus again appeared to him\, and he received the full stigmata. It remained with him until his death on September 23\, 1968.\nPope John Paul II canonized him in 2002.\nABOUT THE RELICS\nIn the Catholic Church\, relics are physical objects associated with a saint or candidate for sainthood – part of the person’s body or something with which he or she was in contact. Relics are not worshiped\, but treated with religious respect. Touching or praying in the presence of such an object helps a faithful individual focus on the saint’s life and virtues\, so that through the saint’s prayer or intercession before God\, the individual will be drawn closer to God.\nABOUT THE SAINT PIO FOUNDATION\nThe Saint Pio Foundation is a premier national charitable organization that promotes awareness of Saint Pio and his mission by working with institutions and individuals who share the same vision to serve “those in need of relief of suffering.” Funds raised by the Saint Pio Foundation are used to provide grants to American Catholic healthcare\, educational\, social\, religious\, and cultural partner organizations. More information about Saint Pio Foundation can be found at http://www.saintpiofoundation.org.\nDownload Flyer 1\nDownload Flyer 2
