DESCRIPTION:The Sunday Liturgy is the heart of our life together as Church. This course will help you to get a better understanding of how to prepare it\, prepare for it\, and learn from it. It will deepen your understanding of your faith and will help your parish assembly be more engaged in the life of Christ we celebrate at every Eucharist. \nThis course will help those involved in preparing for liturgy in a parish: liturgy coordinators and members of a liturgy committee; those responsible for preparing and training liturgical ministers\, those responsible for coordinating the music for parish liturgies; catechists who want to understand the liturgy better.\nThe course is intended for ILM graduates or ministers with previous courses in scripture and basic liturgy. \nIt is a 6-week course that will be offered in Spanish and English. \nSpace is limited. It becomes more effective when there is understanding of the grief process\, practices of effective communication\, and knowledge of varied models of consolation programs. Participants will engage in an established course of study with opportunities to learn\, share and practice elements of this ministry that enhance skills and resources. Parish staff\, clergy\, and volunteers are invited to participate in this 6 week series. Starting on Feb 21 and ends on Apr 4. \nFacilitators: Kathy Fanger and Candee Lucas are members of the Parish Outreach Team for the Catholic Cemeteries in the Diocese of San Jose. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 2018 CRS Rice Bowl Kick-Off on Tuesday\, January 23 from 7-8:30pm at the Chancery. We will be joined by Cassandra Bissainthe\, from CRS Haiti\, who serves with Church Partnerships and Capacity Strengthening.\n\nAbout Cassandra:\nMeet Cassandra. A native of Port-au-Prince\, Haiti\, she spent many of her formative years in the United States—New York\, New Jersey\, and Florida\, where she graduated from Florida International University with a degree in international relations. But her heart never left her home\, Haiti. Despite fleeing with her family from the island nation during a time when killings and kidnappings were common\, she was determined to return\, to work to build a better Haiti.\nCassandra says that she decided to work with CRS because she wanted to work for an organization that encompassed the mission and values of helping the poor and most vulnerable\, and to her\, CRS does that.\nThat’s where Catholic Relief Services\, and our partners\, have been able to make a real difference. Cassandra\, in her work with CRS\, gets to see that difference up close and personal. From hurricane\nrelief to education programming\, Cassandra’s experience in Haiti runs deep.\n“It is truly amazing to see the results of the work of so many\,” she says. “These results are contributing\nto a much larger objective and mission: to make this world a better place.”\nHear about how CRS Rice Bowl is making a difference in Haiti!
