The Supreme Court just issued a split decision on the President’s executive order to give protection and work authorization to foreign born parents of American born children. This pushes the decision back down to the lower court. I want to assure all immigrant parents – and in particular parents of American born children – that I promise my prayers and solidarity with you in your struggle for the right to keep your families together. The Diocese of San Jose will work with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and locally with immigrant advocates to achieve justice for all immigrants. This may seem a set back, but with God all things are possible. Know that I stand with you today.
