Accolades for our Advocates
As we approach the end of the school year, students at our Catholic High Schools have been busy with anti-human trafficking advocacy work. Sophomores, Da-Sol Kim and Vedya Konda from Mitty High School joined other students from around the state on March 28 in Sacramento for Catholic Youth Advocacy Day. Seniors Mikaela Fenton and Caroline Chmielewski-Anders from Notre Dame High School joined Joaquin Schmidt from Bellarmine College Preparatory and CNEHT’s Marilyn Wilson for a presentation on human trafficking to the 8th grade class at St. Clare. (Read more about both stories below).
As graduation draws near, CNEHT invited high school seniors Mikaela, Caroline and Joaquin to our meeting on April 20th where they were presented with Certificates of Achievement for all of their endeavors in the fight against human trafficking. Mikaela and Joaquin (pictured on the right) in particular have not only partnered with CNEHT on school presentations, but they also led workshops at Faith Formations Conferences for the past few years. We will truly miss working with these students and wish them all the best in their future endeavors as they head off to their respective colleges in the fall.
