David Gentry\, professor of theology at Saint Mary’s College of California in Orinda\, will speak about the compatibility of science and faith and how each offers insights into the world the other cannot. \nFather David Gentry-Akin\, M. Div.\, STL\, STD\, is a priest of the Diocese of Stockton and a Professor of Theology at Saint Mary’s. His scholarly interests include religion and science\, Catholicism and culture\, philosophy and theology\, the Vatican and the papacy\, Catholic Higher Education\, and the Lasallian charism in Catholic education. Richard Bernatchez explores the scientific evidence behind the the Shroud and the two other sacred cloths of the Passion\, the Sudarium of Oviedo (a cloth covering Jesus’ head) and the Tunic of Argenteuil (Jesus’ seamless garment). \nRichard Bernatchez is the head of Faith Based Communications\, a non-profit dedicated to spreading evidence for aspects of the Catholic faith. He is a registered Professional Engineer\, with a Master’s degree in Engineering Administration.
