OPCVA Conduct and Policy

The Diocese of San Jose is fully committed to protecting everyone, especially children and vulnerable adults. Therefore, it is the obligation of every Diocesan institutions, parishes and schools, operating with recognition by the Bishop of San Jose, to ensure that all personnel whose position or duties place them in regular contact with children and vulnerable adults have complied with the Safe Environment requirements.

NOTICE: Effective as of May 2014, “Teen Leader” volunteers (under 18 years) may no longer use the “Shield the Vulnerable” online option for Safe Environment volunteer training. All “Teen Leader” volunteers, between the ages of 14 to 18 years of age, must receive training via a live presentation to receive a certificate of compliance.
