The Receptionist/Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for the daily operations of the parish. The Administrative Assistant is also the first point of contact at the parish office, and therefore, must be hospitable, welcoming, professional, and customer service oriented.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: (other duties may be assigned)

  1. Parish Office Administration
  • Provide welcoming presence in the Parish Office greeting and assisting visitors and parishioners, in person or by phone
  • Serve as Sunday Bulletin Editor; prepare and print weekly Bulletin
  • Assist with scheduling Mass Intentions, Baptismal registration, Quinceñera registration
  • Assist Staff with calendar and other duties as assigned
  • Log completion of Sacraments in Liturgical books and in Parish Software; notifies corresponding parishes of events.
  • Assist with the coordination of pre-baptismal classes; certificates and volunteers
  • Assist Pastor and Pastoral staff as needed with different administrative needs
  • Prepare for Sunday the following: Weekly Mass Intentions sheet
  • Prepare and log Sunday Collection bags
  1. Communication
  • Translates or arranges for Spanish translation of Bulletin articles and other communications, as needed.
  • Assist with Christmas and Easter mailings.
  • Address situations that need repair by calling repair personnel in emergency situations.

Education and/or Experience: 

Education: High School Graduate

Computer Skills:       Microsoft Office, ParishSoft, Publisher, and Workday (must have
knowledge of Workday or be willing to learn)

Other Requirements:

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with both volunteers and staff.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and reliable
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Detail oriented
  • Practicing Catholic
  • Member of the Parish, ideal, but not required.

Salary Range: $17.00 per hour – $24.26 per hours based on education and experience.
