At the direction of the pastor and in partnership with the Director of Liturgical Music, the Director of Liturgy will oversee the liturgical life of a medium-sized English-speaking suburban parish that lives out the reforms of the Second Vatican Council. This is a full-time (approximately 35 hours per week) exempt position, including benefits.  The start date is July 1, 2022, but a later date can be negotiated.


The nature of this job requires a practicing Roman Catholic with a master’s degree in pastoral liturgy or equivalent educational background, experience as a liturgy director preferred.  Knowledge of liturgical music and vocal music skills helpful.  Must be present for weekend masses and other important liturgical events throughout the year, including those which take place during evening hours.  Must be able to create liturgical texts that are meaningful and well-written.  Will be expected to work collaboratively with other parish staff persons, as well as a large number of volunteers.
