Cristo Rey High School

Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School is hiring for a full-time Chief Finance & Operations Officer (CFOO).
Cristo Rey is a Jesuit, Catholic high school that empowers students from underserved communities in San José to be men and women for others who are prepared spiritually, academically, and professionally to
complete college and who will become accomplished leaders committed to a lifelong pursuit of learning, faith, and justice. All CRSJ students participate in a Corporate Work Study Program, through which they
work one day a week at a Partner corporation, government agency, or non-profit, thereby gaining professional skills and contributing to the sustainability of the organization.

The CFOO is directly responsible for developing and executing the internal operational strategies necessary to achieve the goals and objectives of Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School. The CFOO will report directly to the President & CEO and will work in collaboration and in partnership with CRSJ Board Members and members of the Leadership Council. The CFOO, along with the President, Principal, and the Executive Director of the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP), are the executives responsible for the successful programming of both the School and the CWSP. The Chief Finance & Operations Officer role will oversee finance, facilities/safety, technology, and HR. The CFOO role will be as much strategic, operational, and managerial as it is financial. The role also involves some external relations as we work with VTA and others to assess the implications for our facilities of a BART station coming in across the street and plan for the coming changes. The next CFOO will be inheriting a highly experienced Staff Accountant and a part-time staff member in charge of tuition collection. Assessing the processes and controls in the office will be an important starting point for the CFOO. In addition, there is a Director of HR, who will report to the CFOO.
On the operations side, the CFOO will work to establish and maintain operational systems stability. The CFOO will work to ensure policies, procedures, and systems are clear, documented, and transferrable with
a focus on long-term sustainability and employee engagement. There is a Facilities Manager with a lot of school experience with whom to partner. Across the finance, HR, and facilities/operations functions, the CFOO will inherit 8 staff members (in full-time or part-time roles). In addition, the CFOO will manage our technology contractor. Depending on the strengths that the CFOO candidate brings to the role, he/she will have the opportunity to hire at least one additional staff member for the team. This is a new role at CRSJ, bringing together the Facilities/Operations team with the HR and Finance team for the first time. This presents an opportunity for a dynamic leader to foster cross-functional relationships and be a key driver of community building across campus. The Chief Finance & Operations Officer will require strong skills including, communication, people management, project management, financial acumen, presentation skills, and perhaps most importantly, strategic thinking and execution. Professionals who enjoy challenges, a true partnership with their President, developing the people on their team, contributing at the highest strategic levels of an organization as well as being a supportive physical presence on campus, will have an incredibly rewarding experience at Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School.
