Leaves of Absence

Life happens, the Diocese is here to support you during your time of need. Whether the leave is needed for your own medical needs or that of a family member, The Human Resources Leaves  of Absence Specialist can guild you through the process. We are here to help navigate Federal and State laws as well as diocesan policy. Each leave of absence is different and can be complex and not all laws apply to each type of leave. We partner with you to unravel the intertwined Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) & California Family Rights Act (CFRA), and through the Interactive process of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). One on one confidential appointments are available to you.  We welcome family members to join in the conversation. Contact Caroline Zelaya at 408-983-0118 or via email at caroline.zelaya@dsj.org for any questions or to request an appointment.
