DIOCESAN PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS:

Heavenly Father,
Your divine Son taught us to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into His vineyard.
We earnestly beg You to bless our parish, our school, and our Diocese with many more priests, religious, and lay faithful who will know you intimately, love You fervently, and serve You joyfully through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
We pray that you continuously call our young people to a living encounter with your Son
in the Word and Eucharist, that they might be made worthy ministers of your Holy Catholic Church.
Strengthen them with the support of their parents, teachers, and friends on earth and all the angels and saints in heaven.
May the ever Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, intercede for us that we might listen to the Word and act on it.
We ask this in through Christ our Lord. Amen.
St. Joseph, Patron of our Diocese, pray for us!

BULLETIN BLURB:

In 15 years, 45 San Jose priests will retire. That means we need 3 new priests every year and a total of 25 seminarians over the next 15 years. We have 7 seminarians. It will take intentional PRAYER, TEACHING, and INVITATION. Will you pray for, encourage, or accompany young people in your life to help them discover and fulfill their Vocation? Are YOU considering a Vocation to the priesthood or consecrated life? Go to www.dsj.org/Vocations and facebook.cm/DSJVocations for tools to discern and foster religious Vocations in the Church.

PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL:

For young people in our community that they may respond generously with open hearts and willing spirits if the Lord calls them to the priesthood, diaconate, or consecrated life. We pray to the Lord…

For men and women to be open to God’s call to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ as priests, deacons, or consecrated persons. We pray to the Lord…

 PRAY FOR VOCATIONS!

Would you join us in in praying for young men and women discerning their vocation?  Let us pray for peace, clarity, confidence, trust and faith for these young people.  Our Lord did promise us that if we all agreed on a prayer, it would be granted (Matt 18:19).  Let’s ask “the Master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest” (Matt 9:38).

If you would like to add your name to a list of those who will commit to praying for and with these young men and women, please add your name
