Extended Care Aide

Our extended care program is looking for a caring, compassionate and friendly child care worker, who has experience caring for children ages 6 to 13 years old. This is a part-time position Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 3:00PM till 6:00PM and on Thursdays from 12:30PM till 6:00pm.

● Minimum age of 21
● 3+ years child care experience
● Adult and child CPR, First Aid training
● Excellent communication skills
● Able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
● Able to perform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending and reaching.

Job Description:
● Supervise and monitor students constantly.
● Help students with basic concepts/homework.
● Collaborate/Assist staff in a variety of functions, including observing, supervising and disciplining students when difficult behavior problems arise. Bring problems to the attention of the director.
● Monitor students during outdoor activities and participate with children in activities.
● Maintain program site and equipment neat and clean.

Resurrection School is looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and engaged individual with a passion for education and enrichment in a part-time (approximately 19-20 hours a week) position in our afternoon Extended Care program that serves students in Transitional Kindergarten through eighth grade (ages 4 -14).  The Coordinator position is responsible to:

  • Supervise Extended Care staff
  • Guide and administer structured activities, coordinate snack supplies and distribution, homework support, attendance management services, and playground supervision.
  • The candidate and the Extended Care staff are responsible to maintain a safe and engaged play based environment.
  • Assist in and/or provide crisis intervention and follow-up, including but not limited to, child abuse reporting (CPS), and to appropriately implement mandated reporting policies and procedures as described by the Diocese of San Jose.
  • The candidate should possess strong judgement, discretion, and problem solving skills, and is committed to the vision of a Catholic education.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the school’s principal, staff, and campus community.
  • The candidate must be dependable and punctual and is committed to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging home away from home environment for all students.
  • Possess excellent language arts, social studies, science, and math skills
  • The candidate must satisfactorily pass fingerprinting clearance and a TB test.
  • The hours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays are from 2:45 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., and on Thursdays from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. The preferable candidate will have prior experience working with children and some ECE (Early Childhood Education) units.

Located in Los Altos Hills, St. Nicholas Catholic School has been educating Kindergarten thru Eighth grade students for over 60 years! Currently, we are in search of two part-time aides for our Extended Care Program. Approx. 15-18 hours per week.

The ideal candidate for this position should have experience and enjoy working with children. This person should be responsible, reliable, and have a positive attitude. Professionalism, initiative, good communication and collaboration skills with other staff members, teachers and administrators are also required.

Our program is an extension of our school and all staff members are required to provide a supportive, caring environment that is aligned with the mission and philosophy of our school. Responsibilities/Duties include:

  • Constant overall safety & supervision of students
