St. Francis of Assisi – P/T Rectory Cook St. Francis of Assisi is seeking a part-time Rectory Cook to provide culinary services to the residence of the parish rectory. Tasks include cooking, shopping and cleaning for meal service for the residents of the parish rectory 4 nights a week and occasionally for larger dinners hosted in the parish rectory. Responsibilities include cooking, planning meals, shopping, handling money for shopping purposes, serving and cleaning after service. This person will report directly to the Pastor and work with the residents of the rectory. The individual must have the ability to cook delicious nutritious meals, have a pleasing personality and enjoy working with others. Work experience in food service industry along with a High School diploma is preferred. Formal training in the food service field and/or nutrition along with dietetic training is highly desirable. A valid California driver’s license and current auto insurance are required along with the ability to pass a background check. St. Francis of Assisi Parish is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Assistant to help oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the church, office building, hall, grounds and memorial garden. Work Schedule is from 1pm- 9pm; (Wed. – Sunday)

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs as necessary
  • Painting and touch ups as necessary
  • Help to maintain the cleanliness of the facilities
  • Implement preventative maintenance measures
  • Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies
  • Complete inspections of all facilities on campus
  • Complete work order requests in a timely manner and be able to prioritize daily work tasks
  • Participate in annual facilities inspection and make corrections and repairs as noted
  • Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
  • Perform other maintenance duties as requested and maintain documentation and reports as required
  • Make needed repairs when possible or report if necessary to hire professional
  • Assist with setting up of gathering spaces for meetings and special events
  • Assist with set up for Memorial Garden Internments
  • Must have own vehicle/transportation for use on the job (reimbursable expenses).  Livescan fingerprint clearance through the California Department of Justice and completion of complete the “Shield of the Vulnerable” is also a condition of employment.

 Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma/ GED required
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Experience in operating a variety of equipment, including floor scrubber, buffer, and hand tools
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision
  • Technical certification in HVAC is highly desired
  • Prior experience working in a campus or church setting in highly desired.
