SUMMARY:World Day of the Sick
DESCRIPTION:In 1992\, Pope John Paul II introduced the celebration of the World Day of the Sick on the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. This annual celebration gives people a chance to pray for and deepen their solidarity with the sick and injured among us.\nEach year\, on a weekend close to the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes (February 11th)\, the Knights of Malta host World Day of the Sick. It is an opportunity for parishes throughout the Diocese and caregivers to celebrate the sacrament of the Sick.\nThis year\, Rev. Christopher Bennett (Chaplain to the Order of the Knights of Malta) will preside at the special Diocese of San Jose Celebration of the World Day of the Sick on February 13 at 11am at St. Christopher Church.\nThe Order of Malta has graciously agreed to coordinate this annual event for the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.\nThere will be special seating for the sick and mobility impaired including those in wheelchairs\, with walkers\, with braces\, canes and service animals. Anyone who is in need of the anointing of the sick\, their caregivers and families are welcome to attend. All in attendance will receive a special prayer card and holy water from Lourdes.\nPlease share this information with your friends and colleagues.\nDownload flyers: English| Spanish
