Through CRS Rice Bowl\, we hear stories from our brothers and sisters in need worldwide\, and devote our Lenten prayers\, fasting and gifts to change the lives of the poor.\nSeventy-five percent of the CRS Rice Bowl funds raised are used for international development and twenty-five percent are available to be distributed locally for hunger alleviation programs. DESCRIPTION:Almost 35 years have passed since protests in Warren County\, NC against the siting of a toxic waste disposal facility in a predominantly African-American community trained nationwide attention on the emerging environmental justice movement.\nEven as the term of the country’s first African-American President comes to an end\, however\, the goal of environmental justice remains unfulfilled.
