SUMMARY:Can You Be a Catholic and a Feminist?
DESCRIPTION:Can You Be a Catholic and a Feminist?\, May 15\, 2025\, 4:00pm-5:30pm\, Santa Clara University\, Library and Learning Commons\, Join the Bannan Forum for a book launch featuring Dr. Julie Hanlon Rubio\, as she uncovers the ethical common ground between Catholicism and feminism on multiple political and social issues. An eminent theologian addresses an enduring–but newly urgent–question: Is it possible to be both a faithful Catholic and an avowed feminist? \nEarlier generations of feminists first formulated answers to this question in the 1970s. Their views are still broadly held\, but with increasing tentativeness and a growing sense of their inadequacy. Today\, tensions between Catholicism and feminism are more visible and ties to Catholic communities are increasingly weak. Can Catholic feminism survive? \nClick here for more information and register
