SUMMARY:What are you Discussing Along the Way?
DESCRIPTION:Mentoring Program for New Faith Formation Directors 1 to 5 years\nIn the National Directory for Catechesis we read the following: “The single most critical factor in an effective parish catechetical program is the leadership of a professionally trained parish catechetical leader.” NDC #54:5\nAs the new Director for Faith Formation for the Diocese it is important for me that the Directors are professionally trained so that they can carry out their ministry in effective ways. It is also equally important for me that the directors (especially those who are beginning their ministry) are supported and have the resources and training they need to be effective in this important ministry of the Church.\nWith this in mind\, I am reestablishing the mentoring program for new directors. Using the passage from Luke 24 (The Emmaus story)\, “what are you discussing along the way?” as our focus\, the mentoring program will be a sustained conversation with your mentor and with the Office of Faith Formation.\nThe program has four components:\n1. Each new director will be assigned a mentor who the mentee will meet with monthly. The mentor is chosen by the Director of Faith Formation for the Diocese.\n2. Four sessions separate from your monthly meeting with your mentor that will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12pm gathered around topics related to your ministry as directors.\n3. The program is for one year only.\n4. A fee of $25.00 is requested.\nClick here for online registration
