From the Bishop

Dear Friends,

At the beginning of this new year, we look back in great gratitude to you for the tremendous success of our Endowment and Capital Campaign. The proceeds of that campaign will address certain immediate needs and will also endow the ministries and programs of our Diocese well into the future.

Now it is time to renew our efforts and invite you to support our 2008 Annual Diocesan Appeal, which will fund the day-to-day operations of central offices of our local Church in the next fiscal year.

The theme of this year’s Annual Diocesan Appeal is “Secure the Vision.” It is the vision of the Lord, who offered himself as the servant of all, and into whom we have been baptized. It is his work that we are committed to accomplish.

I turn to you to ask for your support of the Diocese of San Jose by which we continue this work of the Lord. I invite you to review this brochure so that you might learn more about the good works that you make possible through your support of the ADA.

As our Diocese continues to grow, the needs we must address also increase. Only because of the generosity of our people are we able to provide the ministries and services necessary to be the living presence of the Lord Jesus here in Santa Clara County.

Please accept my sincere gratitude for your past generosity, most recently in the Endowment and Capital Campaign. I hope that you will be able to participate in our 2008 Annual Diocesan Appeal and to renew your commitment to secure the vision of God’s love among us today and in the months and years ahead.
