Rules for General Submissions

Deadline: Fourth Friday of the month, noon

Articles:
  • Send via e-mail to Roberta Ward as Microsoft Word attachment
  • Choose intuitive document names with direct reference to article content.
Content:
  • Basic information:  who, what, when, where, why
  • No unattributed opinions - quote people directly
  • Concise, objective, news style
Document:
  • No headers, no footers, no page numbers, no automatic formatting
  • No embedded text, no embedded graphics
  • No mastheads, no logos
  • Left justified, ragged right type only
Photos:
  • Send via e-mail as attachments with related articles
  • Send in Tiff (*.tif) or Jpeg (*.jpg) format, highest quality digital setting
  • Photos may be scanned (at least 200 dpi) for e-mail submission
  • Hardcopy photos must arrive by deadline and will not be returned
  • Limit is two pictures per submission
  • Choose intuitive file names with direct reference to photo content.
Captions:
  • Photos must have captions identifying people (left to right) unless shown in a large group
  • Add captions to the end of the article and reference corresponding photos

Rules for Submissions from Schools

One Story Per School Per Monthly Submission

School Deadline: THIRD Friday of the month, noon.

Articles:
  • Send via e-mail to Roberta Ward as Microsoft Word attachment (include school name in document name).
Content:
  • Basic Information:  who, what, when, where, why.
  • No unattributed opinions - quote people directly
  • Concise, objective
  • Relevant to Catholic education and faith/religion in Catholic context
  • Of broad readership interest - beyond the individual school
Document:
  • No headers, no footers, no page numbers, no automatic formatting
  • No embedded text, no embedded graphics
  • No mastheads, no logos
  • Left justified, ragged right type only
Photos:
  • Send via e-mail as attachments with related articles
  • Send in Tiff (*.tif) or Jpeg (*.jpg) format, highest quality digital setting
  • Photos may be scanned (at least 200 dpi) for e-mail submission
Captions:
  • Photos must have captions identifying all people (left to right) unless shown in a large group
  • Add captions to the end of the article and reference corresponding photos

Rules for Submissions to the Calendar Page

Deadline: Fourth Friday of the month, noon. Include the following:

  • Brief title for the event
  • Location including complete address
  • Brief description of the event including any cost
  • Contact information
  • Date(s) and time(s)
