Upcoming "Safe Environement" Training Opportunities for all DSJ volunteers (and employees)

In compliance with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, Safe Environment and Sexual Conduct Training and the Adult Pastoral Code of Conduct is required of all diocesan personnel: priests, deacons, pastoral ministers, administrators, principals, teachers, staff, and volunteers. This training is a condition of employment and is expected to be completed within 6 months of hire for new employees. 

Training is valid for three years.  Volunteers, as well as employees who need to recertify their training, have the option of completing the training requirement by attending a live workshop or taking the training online at www.shieldthevulnerable.org.   New employees are required to attend the live presentation of the Safe Environment and Sexual Conduct Training.

Here is the upcoming Safe Environment Trainings for any and all your staff and volunteers whom have not been trained in the past 3 years:

  • Monday, June 11th from 6pm-7:30pm at the DSJ Chancery Office (Safe Environment–Bilingual Spanish & English), 1150 N. 1st Street, San Jose
  • Tuesday, June 19th from 5pm-6:15pm at Queen of Apostles Church. (Safe Environment–Bilingual Spanish & English), 4911 Moorpark Avenue, San Jose
  • Wednesday, June 20th, from 5pm-6:15pm at St. Joseph’s Mountain View (Safe Environment – Bilingual Spanish & English)
  • Friday, June 29th from 5pm-6:15pm at St. Catherine’s Church (Safe Environment–Bilingual Spanish & English), 17400 Peak Avenue, Morgan Hill
