Evening of Prayer for Victims of Violence

The Catholic community of San José invites you to an evening of prayer for victims of violence and those left to remember them.
“Violence is overcome day by day, choice by choice, person by person, all of us must make a contribution.” – U.S. Catholic Bishops
This is a communal celebration of remembrance of those who have lost their lives through violence during this past year in the Diocese of San Jose.
Knowing that those of us who are left behind to mourn need an opportunity to celebrate the lives of those who have gone before us, we invite you to send the name of anyone you would like remembered to Sister Maryann Cantlon at 1150 North First Street, San Jose, CA 95112 or to mcantlon@dsj.org.
A reception and hospitality will be provided after the service. All are invited to attend and to pray for this suffering part of our community.
Please send the name(s) before September 15, 2014 so that they can be included in this celebration of Evening Prayer. Please invite others to join us at St. Francis of Assisi on Sept. 23, 2014.

La Comunidad Católica de San José te invita a una noche de oración para víctimas de la violencia y para sus familiares que aun los extrañan y recuerdan.
“La violencia se supera cada día, decisión por decisión, persona por persona, todo debemos contribuir a superarla.” – Obispos Católicos de Estados Unidos
Este es una celebración comunitaria para recordar a aquellos que en el área de la Diócesis de San Jose, han perdido su vida por la violencia durante el año pasado.
Sabiendo que aquellos que están aquí extrañando a sus seres queridos, necesitan la oportunidad de celebrar las vidas de los que se han ido antes que nosotros, te invitamos a enviar el nombre de alguien que quieras que sea recordado; envía su nombre a la hermana Maryann: 1150 N.
