Scholarship Cases

The school is in our hearts!

A family that could have easily attended a non-Catholic private school or a public school free of charge chose instead to enroll all three of their children in one of our schools.  Struggling, saving, and having qualified and received both Diocesan and school financial assistance, all three children were able to attend and graduate from their Diocesan school of choice.  Why? Because their parents valued the Catholic identity, the sense of community, and the academic acuity of a Catholic school.  Upon the graduation of the 3rd child, the mom wrote to her school, “I want you to know how grateful we are to all of you.  It has been an especially tough year, and we could not afford to give our children any real gifts this Christmas, but the school community helped us to remember how blessed we are, and that we have had so much given to us by the school.  Every time we think we are not going to get through another day, we manage to pull through.  We owe a great part of our inner strength to all of you. Thanks again for everything.  Although this is our last year, we will still be involved in any way we can.

I now believe that things will work out!

I am generally optimistic, love life, and have faith that good will prevail. However, my optimism, my love for life, and my faith are all being tested right now. Several years ago my husband was diagnosed with a life threatening kidney disease that must be carefully managed with medication and consistent treatment. Without it, his kidneys will fail.  Due to our astronomical medical bills, I went back to work and have been the sole source of income. Unfortunately, in February 2008, I lost my job. As I watched my children try to be brave with tears streaming down their faces, and I watched my husband struggle to pretend that he’s fine when I know he’s in pain, I felt that for the first ime in my life, I had failed. I felt like I had let my family down. I know that there are people in worse positions than we are. Our major blessing - our school and parish community. Thanks to a significant amount of financial assistance awarded to us by the generosity of the donors at our children’s school, my children are able to continue to receive the Catholic Education that my husband and I so wished for them to have.

Our wish is that this gift will be able to provide tuition assistance to another family who may face adversity in the future.

I am a parent informing you that last year, our family was devastated when my husband and I both lost our jobs. We  had recently moved from another state and were thrilled about the opportunities available to us here in Silicon Valley. When our situation changed, our school stepped in to help us. We are so fortunate that our school scholarship fund was able to provide us with assistance. Without this support, we would have had to make the difficult decision of removing our children from Catholic school. We are so thankful for all of God’s provisions. We were able to sell our home and secure full-time work. Now that our position has changed, we are sending this gift in the amount of scholarship aid that we received.

Your generous contribution will allow our schools to keep tuition affordable for our families.
Your donation will make up the difference between tuition and the true cost of educating each child.
