Welcoming and Commisioning Day

Welcoming and Commissioning Day is a long-standing tradition in the Diocese of San Jose. It offers an opportunity for pastoral ministry leaders to renew friendships and welcome new-comers. It also includes a special liturgy and commissioning presided by Bishop Patrick J. MacGrath.

Mike Carotta, EdD, a nationally known speaker and writer will speak on “Teaching for Discipleship: The Call, The Challenge, The Difference.” This workshop points out why now is the right time to emphasize the call of discipleship, the challenges involved in making what the Church calls “necessary adaptations”, dynamics that distinguish Teaching For Discipleship from past approaches, and practices that can help us all keep heart. The day also includes cluster meetings and a great lunch.
