MOST HOLY TRINITY PARISH in San Jose

Part-Time Confirmation Coordinator

Most Holy Trinity Parish is accepting applications for the position of Confirmation Coordinator. The Confirmation Program Coordinator is a professionally trained minister who provides leadership and training to the volunteer catechists who implement the High School Confirmation Program. This program provides catechetical and sacrament preparation for approximately 100 high school aged youth in a one year program. The program meets for two hours each week on Sunday and includes a weekend retreat. The program is integrated with the Growing in Faith Together (G.I.F.T.), the parish whole family faith formation program.

Qualifications include:

  • Completion of Institute of Leadership in Ministry or its equivalent
  • Master Catechist Certification or in the process of completing Program or equivalent
  • Experience in Youth Ministry
    Team building, knowledge of adolescent development
    Working with diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
  • Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel and Parish Soft Data Base

SACRED HEART OF JESUS PARISH in San Jose

Part-Time Office Assistant (16 hours per week)

Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in San Jose is looking for a qualified person who can provide clerical support to parish office personnel.  This parish provides services primarily to Spanish-speaking parishioners.  Some of the responsibilities of this part-time position include:

  • Weekly registration of sacraments, especially baptisms
  • Recording of sacrament notifications received from other parishes
  • Sorting/distributing mail and faxes
  • Substitute for the receptionist during breaks and lunch time
  • Substitute for the receptionist during sick or vacation time
  • Assist in the office as needed

Preferred qualifications: Proficiency in the use of a computer.  Bilingual, English/Spanish is a requirement and a good penmanship is a plus.  The salary will be determined according to the Diocesan Guidelines.

Part-Time Music Director/Liturgist

Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in San Jose is looking for a qualified person who can plan, administer and implement liturgical music ministry appropriate for parish liturgies and other parish celebrations. The responsibilities consist of:

  1. Recruiting, formation and direction of choirs, cantors and musicians in the various community masses.
  2. Scheduling of choirs, cantors and musicians for masses and other celebrations.
  3. Conducting regular weekly choir practice or as the need arises.
  4. Serving as an accompanist, cantor or song leader at various liturgical celebrations as the need arises.

Preferred Qualifications are: Proficient as a pianist or organist, and as a cantor. Must have least two years experience as a music and choir director in a parish setting. This person must have liturgical competence through study and or experience. Proficiency in the use of a computer is a requirement. The salary will be determined according to Diocesan Guidelines.
