BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB/QUALIFICATIONS: The Associate Director's primary responsibility is to manage all aspects of FDLC publications, print and electronic: development, production, marketing, sales, and finances. The Associate Director serves as staff to the Publications and the Development and Marketing Committees of the FDLC Board of Directors.

The Associate Director also assists the Executive Director in all aspects of the work of National Office in service to the Federation and its Board of Directors: facilitating the networking of the membership through the FDLC website, newsletter, listserv and online resources; planning and managing the FDLC annual meeting and two annual Board of Directors meetings; developing and supporting FDLC associate memberships. Twice yearly travel expected.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  The candidate must be a practicing Catholic with academic study and pastoral experience in the field of liturgy; project management skills; ability to work collaboratively in small office; working knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office. Spanish language skills would be an asset.

The Diocese of Gary is seeking to fill a joint position in its Office of Worship, Associate Director in the Office of Worship/Diocesan Music Director.

CREDENTIALS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters or its equivalent degree/certificate in Liturgical Studies.
Masters or its equivalent degree in Music, which would include experience in conducting and keyboard.
Competency in Microsoft Word, Publisher, Access, Excel and other similar applications.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
In collaboration with, and at the direction of the Director of the Office, the Associate supports all the operations of the Office.  These operations include Diocesan liturgies, Catechumenal concerns, formational workshops, seminars/conferences, and providing resources for parish staff and commissions.

The Associate, in the position of Diocesan Music Director, is responsible for the Diocesan Choir and its participation at all major diocesan liturgies at the Cathedral. This includes recruitment and selection of choir members, conducting the choir, instrumentalists and other matters that pertain to the maintenance and growth of the diocesan music ministry.

The Associate is responsible for maintaining the Office’s diocesan data base of liturgical ministers, RCIA directors, parish liturgy commissions, and other data needed for effective communication with the diocese-at-large.

The Associate also participates in the ongoing collaboration with the other programmatic offices of the Diocese in supporting the mission statement of the Diocese. 

This joint position reports to, collaborates with and receives direction from the Director of the Office of Worship,
Fr. Martin Dobrzynski.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The salary will be decided upon education and experience in the areas mentioned.  The scale ranges from $43,038 - $53,800 including benefits.  The diocese will entertain applicants that do not have a specialty in music.  It is required that the applicant be a practicing Roman Catholic to serve in this position.  A more detailed description of the positions is available upon request.
