SUBJECT: Confirmation 2010
Next year, Easter Sunday falls on April 4, 2010. Pentecost Sunday will be May 23rd.
Clergy Study Week is scheduled to take place the week of May 10-14, 2010.
As has been the custom in the past, Bishop McGrath is always very happy to grant to a Pastor the delegation to confirm. He is also very happy to grant delegation to the deans (Vicars Forane) and any of the vicars. If you will be requesting delegation for the Pastor, please let me know. In such cases, it is not necessary to submit this form. I need only to know the date of the confirmation.
Here are some gentle reminders:
It is always greatly appreciated when parishes join together for the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation, either at the Cathedral or at a parish church.
Please submit three (3) date requests, listing them in order of preference. We will do our best to accommodate your requests.
To the extent that it is possible, calendar requests for Confirmation will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
For those parishes with a confirmation group of less than thirty candidates, please join with another parish.
The following Saturday mornings have been reserved at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Joseph for the 9:30 a.m. celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation:
April 17, 2010
May 15, 2010
April 24 2010
May 22, 2010
May 29, 2010
Once a majority of the date requests have come in, the schedule for Confirmation 2010 will be determined. I will then be back in contact with you to let you know the date of the Confirmation. The celebrant will be determined at a later time.
